New Season Dates

Our 2016-17 season begins with an Opening Bonspiel on 8th September.

Come and Try Curling
Adult Beginners Lessons

The Old Fellows Curling Club supports the recruitment initiative of ClubSport Stirling. In collaboration with the Ice Sports Development Officer, we encourage new curlers to enrol for one of the Adult Beginners courses which normally consist of a series of four 2-hour lessons.

Any potential members who are interested in either a "Come and Try" session or a course of lessons are invited to contact secretary@oldfellows.org.uk for further information.

8-Ender - February 2012

On 9th February 2012, while playing in the Spring League game between Rinks G and J, the former rink, comprising David Anderson (Skip), Boyd Houston, Wilson Brown and Sandy Shearlaw, had the distinction of scoring an "8-Ender" against their opposition in the second end of the game. They went on to win the game by 12 shots to 7.

An "8-Ender" occurs when all eight of one team's stones lie within the house and all count as a result of beating the closest opposing stone. It is a very rare occurrence and is rewarded with a commemorative plaque awarded by the Royal Caledonian Curling Club.
